Northern Arizona Book Festival

Overview

The Northern Arizona Book Festival (noazbookfest.org) is a long running 'literary extravaganza' founded by the Literacy Volunteers of Coconino County in 1998, though their website suggests that 2019 is its 24th year. The event became an independent non-profit organisation in 2002. It grew to fill a full week at many venues in downtown Flagstaff.

A revamp during COVID made massive changes. Venues changed. Their logo changed. Event dates changed from September/October to March/April. Their domain shifted from nazbookfest.org to noazbookfest.org, their Facebook similarly and Twitter from nothing to something. Even the host city changed, in name if not location: Flagstaff changing to its Native American name, Kinłání.

Notes

  1. Northern Arizona Book Festival 17 was cancelled.
  2. Northern Arizona Book Festival 20 was held over two consecutive weekends: 6-7 and 13-14 Oct.
  3. While the majority of the Northern Arizona Book Festival in 2019 occupied the weekend of 14th to 15th September, the Narrow Chimney Reading Series ties into it, both before and after, while other activities take place throughout the preceding week.
