GilaCon was a gaming convention that was run by the Gamer's Coalition of Arizona. I do love the idea of a simple name that non-natives will fail utterly to pronounce. An entry in the Arizona Republic's events section on 18 Apr 2002 describes GilaCon as 'A gaming convention including Dungeons and Dragons, Toon, Dawn Patrol, Battletech and Car Wars.' It added that tickets were $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Their website was gilacon.com, but they later moved to warhorn.net/gilacon. Tricky buggers. |
