Sneaker Con

Overview

Fandom has changed a great deal over the decades. I doubt anyone at Phoenix Con in 1970 could have imagined that, half a century later, there would be a convention dedicated to collectible sneakers on the Arizona event calendar.

Sneaker Con (sneakercon.com) is that convention and it's an expansion into Arizona of an event previously held in forty cities as far flung as Shanghai, Sydney and Montreal. It was founded in 2009 by sneaker enthusiasts in New York and it advertises itself as "the world's premier sneaker show".

Notes

  1. Sneakercon was originally scheduled for 14th March but it rescheduled to 24th October because of concerns over COVID-19. It later cancelled entirely for 2020 and announced dates for 2021.
